In the past few months, delicious desserts have become a big part of the current food trend in Johor Bahru. As more and more desert shops spring up in the area, crowds flock towards these shops, being tempted to have a taste of these deserts. Talking of delicious matcha cake, we must not forget SOT. What is SOT? A habitual drunkard? No! SOT actually means Sugar on top. ‘We Are Not Crazy Just SOT’ is the slogan of the cafe. Their unique ideas and craziness have reflected on their food, displaying their uniqueness and courage to be different from others. 

It’s not a joke! This store is also crowded during busy times. 

Their aim is to provide customers with a comfortable space to chat while enjoying the food. The quiet and comfortable environment of the cafe is perfect for relaxing.

As for the food, many specialty staples and desserts are included in the menu. Hokkaido hotcake, their most popular desert and biggest selling point is a particular noteworthy dish. 

The hotcake is arranged in the shape of a very cute rabbit.

HOKKAIDO MOCHA HOTCAKE (RM17.90)

The matcha powder used made the taste of this hot cake even more delicious. The sweet and sour strawberry is highly compatible with the bitterness of the Matcha cake. The two tastes go surprisingly well together, and is completely without conflict. In fact, people who aren't keen for ice cream have the option to go with or without the sweet addition. Of course, the price of the hot cake without ice cream will be cheaper.

We also ordered their pasta, which is actually curry flavoured.

LAKSA PESTO PASTA (RM 21.90)

Curry flavoured pasta is quite rare in cafes, and the dish is prepared with a unique cooking method. The aroma of the curry and pesto used is very fragrant and the taste is delicious. Customers who dislike the common tomato flavoured pasta can try this pasta which adheres more to local preferences of flavour.

Before we finish, we have a small suggestion. Whenever you feel pressured or stressed out because of work or study,  you can go eat sweets. After eating desserts, you will feel relaxed and much more motivated to continue to work hard. Have a nice day!
