The Hot

The Hot is a café that located near Sutera Utama, it is quite noticeable by its eyes catching logo and signboard.

Step in to the shop, we found that the interior is spacious, and it is well-lighted due to the French windows. In addition, the tables and chairs placing are sufficient to fit the crowd during lunch time and uncrowded like some of the cafes.

Furthermore, the second floor of the shop lot is also surprisingly available at The Hot.

The Hot is known for their Western and Nanyang food and delicate desserts which come in with reasonable price tags. As a constant café-hopper, you will definitely not be disappointed to the variety and uniqueness from The Hot’s menu.

One of the special menu presented by The Hot is panini, which is origin from Italy. Panini is basically the grilled sandwich made from bread instead of sliced bread, the most common bread used for panini is baguette. At The Hot, you can find quite a wide range of choices for different flavours of panini. The price is normally at RM10.90, but it will be more expensive for smoked chicken charcoal panini and Seoul panini as a limited menu.

SOY SAUCE PORK PANINI (RM10.90)
The soy sauce pork panini is one of the flavours that highly recommended by The Hot and it has been receiving many favourable reviews from the customers. The pork chop that sandwiched by the bread is really delicious. As we have the first bite, the taste of the pork chop, together with the cheese and bread had tickle our taste buds. Although the portion of panini is not considered big enough, it had surprisingly fulfilled our appetite.

The second specialty of The Hot should be their Nanyang style rice, which provided three choices of ‘nasi berani’,’nasi bunga telang’ and white rice. Besides, the side dishes provided are also traditional dishes of Malaysia such as curry chicken/pork, Muar otak and ‘rendang’ beef/mutton. These are all the dishes that we are so familiar with as a Malaysian.

RENDANG MUTTON RICE WITH NASI BUNGA TELANG(RM10.90)
Ignoring its appearance that not match with the menu image, the taste of rendang has inspired us together with the fragrance of the rice. It is fresh for us to try rendang mutton as our very first time and we are pleasantly prepared for the second attempt.

You might be wrong if you thought that that was all for the uniqueness of The Hot’s menu. The Hot has incredibly made themselves stand out from the cafes by adding different elements into their recipe. Take the Chinese tea, Tieguanyin mix together with the ordinary milk tea, they produced the Tieguanyin Milktea as their special and remarkable beverage.

TIEGUANYIN GUILINGGAO (RM5.80)
Other than that, another beverage that attracted our attention was the Tieguanyin guilinggao (jelly made from Chinese herbs). It is refreshing and able to relieve heat and sunstroke in the summer days by drinking one cup of this beverage. Chen et al. (2015) have found that tieguanyin are able to prevent cancer and also heart disease.

Actions speak louder than words, if your mouth watered after reading this post, just make a move to have a meal at The Hot with your family and friends today!
